Gentle wake with increasing alarm volume

Start your day right by waking up gently to a gradually escalating alarm volume. Normal alarm sounds with a preset volume are either too low to wake you up or are so uncomfortably loud that you are rudely jolted awake. Choose to wake up to your favorite music, radio station or buzzer alarm. Gentle wake's alarm volume gradually increases from subtly low to reasonably high in order to gently rouse you.

FM digital tuning with presets

Digital FM radio offers you additional music options to your music collection on your Philips audio system. Simply tune into the station that you want to preset, press and hold the preset button to memorize the frequency. With preset radio stations that can be stored, you can quickly access your favorite radio station without having to manually tune the frequencies each time.

The Philips AJL308 Clock Radio/Photo Frame is a fantastic concept combining a clock radio with a digital photo frame.

The AJL308 is cosmetically attractive, with a gloss black finish around the 7-inch wide-screen display and a wide base creating a sturdy stand that puts the frame at a good viewing angle.

The 7” LCD displays date and time as well as images stored on an optional SD/MMC memory card or flashdrive that fit into slots on the side of the frame. Photos are displayed at a resolution of 480x234 in a slide show format across the whole frame or you can have them appear in a smaller box next to the time and date in "clock" mode.

There's a FM radio with 20 presets, plus two alarms, a sleep timer with interval options between 15 and 60 minutes, and a dimmer/snooze bar conveniently placed at the top of the frame. Considering the Philips AJL308 is a photo frame and clock radio, the built in bass reflex speaker system does play louder than your typical photo frame, and overall the sound quality is good for a bedside clock radio.

Adding to the previously mentioned features, the Philips AJL308 clock radio/photo frame also plays MP3 and WMA files and select video files from your SD/MMC card or flashdrive.

There are a few other interesting features within the menu system which allow you to change the colour of the background display, choose one of 16 slide-show transition effects, a few novelty alarms (church bells, ocean wave, forest, and rooster), and three different "relaxation modes" for the sleep timer.
